A man and his wife were awakened at 3:00 am by a loud knocking on the door.<\/p>\n
the man gets up and goes to the door where a drunk stranger,<\/p>\n
standing in the pouring rain, is asking for a push.<\/p>\n
\u201cNot a chance,\u201d says the husband,<\/p>\n
\u201cit is 3:00 in the morning!\u201d<\/p>\n
He then returns to bed.<\/p>\n
\u201cWho was that?\u201d asked his wife<\/p>\n
\u201cJust some guy asking for a push,\u201d he answers.<\/p>\n
\u201cDid you help him?\u201d she asks.<\/p>\n
\u201cNo, I did not, it is 3:00 in the morning and it is pouring rain out there!\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWell, you have a short memory,\u201d says his wife.<\/p>\n
\u201cCan\u2019t you remember about three months ago when we broke down, and those two guys helped us? I think you should help him, and you should be ashamed of yourself!.\u201d<\/p>\n
The man does as he is told, gets dressed, and goes out into the pouring rain.<\/p>\n
He calls out into the dark,<\/p>\n
\u201cHello, are you still there?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cYes,\u201d comes back the answer.<\/p>\n
\u201cDo you still need a push?\u201d calls out the husband.<\/p>\n
\u201cYes, please!\u201d comes the reply from the dark.<\/p>\n
