It was a photograph of Andrew.<\/p>\n
Not a flattering one.<\/p>\n
He was asleep on his brother Daniel\u2019s couch at a family barbecue a few months earlier.<\/p>\n
His shirt had ridden up over his stomach.<\/p>\n
His mouth was open.<\/p>\n
One sock was missing.<\/p>\n
And someone had apparently taken the picture at precisely the worst possible angle.<\/p>\n
Across the bottom, Andrew\u2019s father had typed:<\/p>\n

I thought she’d misunderstood you.\u201d<\/p>\n My stomach tightened.<\/p>\n \u201cYou knew?\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cShe apologized to me.\u201d<\/p>\n Meredith’s eyes filled with anger.<\/p>\n \u201cDo you understand how insane that is? Your wife apologized to me<\/strong> because her husband kept comparing her body to mine.\u201d<\/p>\n Andrew finally seemed to realize the room was no longer on his side.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was motivation.
