I recognized Mom immediately.<\/p>\n
She was thinner than I remembered her before she got sick, wearing the blue knit cap she used after she started losing her hair.<\/p>\n
Beside her stood the waiter.<\/p>\n
I looked up at him.<\/p>\n
\u201cHow did you know my mother?\u201d<\/p>\n
