“My son says… you’ve been inside my house.”<\/p>\n

Her eyebrows shot up.<\/p>\n

“Your house?”<\/p>\n

Leo immediately pointed at her again.<\/p>\n

“You’re the bedroom lady!”<\/p>\n

The woman blinked several times before kneeling down to Leo’s eye level.<\/p>\n

“Sweetheart… are you sure it’s me?”<\/p>\n

Leo nodded enthusiastically.<\/p>\n

“You always wear funny clothes when you come.”<\/p>\n

My stomach twisted.<\/p>\n

I was seconds away from demanding answers when the woman suddenly smiled.<\/p>\n

“Oh…”<\/p>\n

She looked back at me.<\/p>\n

“Does your husband happen to be Cameron?”<\/p>\n

My heart nearly stopped.<\/p>\n

“Yes.”<\/p>\n

She let out a relieved laugh.<\/p>\n

“I think I know exactly what’s happening.”<\/p>\n

“I work for DreamSpace Interiors.”<\/p>\n

She reached into her purse and handed me a business card.<\/p>\n

Senior Interior Designer<\/strong><\/p>\n

“My company specializes in custom bedroom renovations.”<\/p>\n

I frowned.<\/p>\n

“What?”<\/p>\n

She pulled out her phone.<\/p>\n

“About six months ago, your husband hired us.”<\/p>\n

She scrolled through several photos before handing me the phone.<\/p>\n

There was my bedroom.<\/p>\n

Workers carrying furniture.<\/p>\n

Painters.<\/p>\n

Electricians.<\/p>\n

And her…<\/p>\n

Standing beside a wall covered with color samples.<\/p>\n

“I’ve only been inside your home three times.”<\/p>\n

“I was measuring the room and supervising the installation.”<\/p>\n

I stared at the photos.<\/p>\n

Everything matched.<\/p>\n

“But… why would my husband hide that from me?”<\/p>\n

She smiled warmly.<\/p>\n

“He made every member of our team sign confidentiality agreements.”<\/p>\n

“He said it was the biggest surprise of your life.”<\/p>\n

Before I could ask another question, my phone rang.<\/p>\n

It was Cameron.<\/p>\n

“Hey,” he said cheerfully.<\/p>\n

“How’s grocery shopping going?”<\/p>\n

I looked at the designer.<\/p>\n

She quietly nodded.<\/p>\n

I took a deep breath.<\/p>\n

“Cameron…”<\/p>\n

“I think we need to talk.”<\/p>\n

There was a long silence.<\/p>\n

Then he sighed.<\/p>\n

“You met Sarah, didn’t you?”<\/p>\n

“So… it’s true?”<\/p>\n

“Yes.”<\/p>\n

“But not what you think.”<\/p>\n

He laughed nervously.<\/p>\n

“I was planning to tell you next Friday.”<\/p>\n

“Tell me what?”<\/p>\n

“Our tenth anniversary surprise.”<\/p>\n

When I arrived home later that evening, Cameron was already waiting in the driveway.<\/p>\n

He looked terrified.<\/p>\n

“I’m so sorry,” he said before I could speak.<\/p>\n
