{"id":714,"date":"2025-07-27T09:20:16","date_gmt":"2025-07-27T09:20:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tappyli.com\/?p=714"},"modified":"2025-07-27T09:20:16","modified_gmt":"2025-07-27T09:20:16","slug":"what-happened-to-the-alligators-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tappyli.com\/?p=714","title":{"rendered":"What Happened to the Alligators?"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>While sports fishing off the Florida coast in Key West, a tourist capsized his boat.<\/h2>\n<p>He could swim, but his fear of alligators kept him clinging to the overturned craft.<\/p>\n<p>Spotting an old beachcomber walking on the shore, the tourist shouted, \u201cThere wouldn\u2019t by chance be any alligators in these waters?!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He asks in panic. \u201cNo,\u201d the old man hollered back, \u201chaven\u2019t been any for years!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Feeling relieved, the tourist started swimming leisurely toward the shore.<\/p>\n<p>About halfway toward shore he asked the old man, \u201cSay, how\u2019d you get rid of the gators, anyway?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe didn\u2019t do anything,\u201d the old man said.\u00a0<strong>\u201cThe sharks got \u2019em.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-10743 size-full td-animation-stack-type2-2\" src=\"https:\/\/teachmelife.b-cdn.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/oS8y99XZ.jpg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/teachmelife.b-cdn.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/oS8y99XZ.jpg 400w, https:\/\/teachmelife.b-cdn.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/oS8y99XZ-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/teachmelife.b-cdn.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/oS8y99XZ-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/teachmelife.b-cdn.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/oS8y99XZ-60x60.jpg 60w\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>An elderly man in Florida had owned a large farm for several years.<\/h2>\n<p>He had a large pond in the back, fixed up nicely: Picnic tables, horseshoe courts, a volleyball court, and some fruit trees.<\/p>\n<p>The pond was properly shaped and fixed up for swimming.<\/p>\n<p>One evening the old farmer decided to go down to the pond and look it over, as he hadn\u2019t been there in a while.<\/p>\n<p>He grabbed a five-gallon bucket to bring back some fruit.<\/p>\n<p>As he neared the pond, he heard voices shouting and laughing with glee.<\/p>\n<p>As he came closer, he saw it was a bunch of young women skinny-dipping in his pond.<\/p>\n<p>He made the women aware of his presence and they all went to the deep end.<\/p>\n<p>One of the women shouted to him, \u201cWe\u2019re not coming out until you leave!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The old man frowned, \u201cI didn\u2019t come down here to watch you ladies swim or make you get out of the pond.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Holding the bucket up he said,\u00a0<strong>\u201cI\u2019m here to feed the alligator.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>So one day, Grandma sent her grandson Little Johnny down to the waterhole to get some water for cooking dinner.<\/h2>\n<p>As he was dipping the bucket in, he saw two big eyes looking back at him.<\/p>\n<p>He dropped the bucket and hightailed it for Grandma\u2019s kitchen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell now, where\u2019s my bucket and where\u2019s my water?\u201d Grandma asked him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can\u2019t get any water from that water hole, Grandma\u201d exclaimed Johnny. \u201cThere\u2019s a BIG ol\u2019 alligator down there!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow don\u2019t you mind that ol\u2019 alligator, Johnny. He\u2019s been there for a few years now, and he\u2019s never hurt no one. Why, he\u2019s probably as scared of you as you are of him!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, Grandma,\u201d replied Johnny, \u201cif he\u2019s as scared of me as I am of him, then that water ain\u2019t fit to drink!\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>While sports fishing off the Florida coast in Key West, a tourist capsized his boat.
