Maria and Julia were old friends.<\/h2>\n

They had been friends for many years and had been married to their husbands for a long time.<\/p>\n

One day, Julia visited Maria and confided in her that she was upset because she thought her husband didn\u2019t find her attractive anymore.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs I get older he doesn\u2019t bother to look at me\u201d, Julia cried on her best friend Maria\u2019s shoulder.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m so sorry for you\u201d, Maria said. \u201cAs I get older, my husband says that I get more beautiful every day\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course he does\u201d, Julia answered, \u201cyour husband is an antique dealer!\u201d<\/p>\n

Two elderly ladies had been friends for many decades.<\/h2>\n

Over the years they had shared all kinds of activities and adventures.<\/p>\n

Lately, their activities have been limited to playing cards a few times a week.<\/p>\n

One day when playing cards, one looked at the other and said, \u201cNow don\u2019t get mad at me. I know we\u2019ve been friends for a long time, but I just can\u2019t think of your name. I\u2019ve thought and thought, but I can\u2019t remember it. Please tell me what your name is.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her friend glared at her.<\/p>\n

For at least three minutes she just stared and glared. Finally, she said,\u00a0\u201cHow soon do you need to know?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The preacher, in his sermon, used \u201cForgive Your Enemies\u201d as his subject.<\/h2>\n

After a long sermon, he asked how many were willing to forgive their enemies. About half held up their hands.<\/p>\n

Not satisfied, he harangued for another twenty minutes and repeated his question. This time he received a response of about 80 percent.<\/p>\n

Still unsatisfied, he lectured for another 15 minutes and repeated his question.<\/p>\n

With all thoughts now on dinner, all responded except one elderly lady in the rear.<\/p>\n

\u201cMrs Jones, are you not willing to forgive your enemies?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t have any.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMrs Jones, that is very unusual. How old are you?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNinety-three.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMrs Jones, please come down in front and tell the congregation how a person can live to be ninety-three, and not have an enemy in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

The little sweetheart of a lady tottered down the aisle very slowly turned around, and said:<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s easy, I just outlived them all.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

One afternoon, I was in the backyard hanging the laundry when an old, tired-looking dog wandered into the yard.<\/h2>\n

I could tell from his collar and well-fed belly that he had a home. But when I walked into the house, he followed me, sauntered down the hall, and fell asleep in a corner. An hour later, he went to the door, and I let him out.<\/p>\n

The next day he was back. He resumed his position in the hallway and slept for an hour. This continued for several weeks. Curious, I pinned a note to his collar: \u2018Every afternoon your dog comes to my house for a nap.\u2019<\/p>\n
