Hollow. They didn\u2019t know. I was doing fine. But now you\u2019re back. You\u2019re a problem.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1279\" data-end=\"1315\">Her mouth opened, but no sound came.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1317\" data-end=\"1382\">\u201cI told them you died in prison,\u201d he muttered, almost to himself.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1384\" data-end=\"1404\">And then it clicked.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1406\" data-end=\"1494\">The forged death certificate. The closed accounts. Her name wiped clean from everything.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1496\" data-end=\"1514\">He had erased her.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1516\" data-end=\"1584\">\u201cWhy are we here, Andrei?\u201d she asked, her voice a trembling whisper.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1586\" data-end=\"1616\">Andrei stepped out of the car.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1618\" data-end=\"1650\">Maria\u2019s instinct screamed\u2014<em data-start=\"1644\" data-end=\"1650\">run.<\/em><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1652\" data-end=\"1662\">But where?<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1664\" data-end=\"1781\">She opened the door, stepping out slowly, her feet crunching on dead leaves. I gave up everything for you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1945\" data-end=\"1962\">He didn\u2019t answer.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1964\" data-end=\"2130\">Tears spilled down her cheeks as she dropped to her knees. \u201cYou were my baby,\u201d she sobbed. \u201cI carried you inside me.
