Sirens.<\/p>\n

Daniel froze in the doorway.<\/p>\n

His face changed.<\/p>\n

Everything about him changed.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat did you do?\u201d he snapped, stepping toward me.<\/p>\n

The first police car turned the corner fast, tires crunching against the gravel. Then another.<\/p>\n
