This woman was once called one of the heaviest women in the world. After reaching a weight of 347 kg (765 lbs)<\/strong>, Pierce realized that although she loved fast food, she might soon die if she continued like this.<\/p>\n For the sake of her daughter and her 22-year-old boyfriend<\/strong> (yes, really!), she decided to radically change her life and joined the TV show \u201cMy 600-lb Life.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n The 38-year-old American from Iowa<\/strong> suffered not only from obesity but also from lymphedema<\/strong>. Because of this illness, so much fluid accumulated in her limbs that her left leg swelled to an incredible size. Eventually, she could no longer move on her own.<\/p>\n For the sake of her boyfriend Tony, Charity was willing to do a lot. After she could no longer fit into a regular car, and renting a special vehicle would have cost $5,000<\/strong>, she realized that things could not continue like this. Otherwise, she wouldn\u2019t even make it to her own wedding!<\/p>\n In the name of love, her daughter, and her own well-being, Pierce decided to participate in the TLC program, but even that was not easy.<\/p>\n The woman urgently needed gastric band surgery<\/strong>. However, for the operation to be performed safely, doctors required her to lose 121 kg (267 lbs)<\/strong> first. Surgeons agreed to perform the extremely complicated surgery only if her weight dropped to 226 kg (498 lbs).<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cThe only thing that can save my life is gastric bypass surgery. But I\u2019m a single mother with a disability and I have no one to rely on except myself,\u201d she said at the time.<\/p>\n The weight-loss process was not easy. If before she consumed several thousand calories a day, now she was allowed to eat only 1,200 calories<\/strong>. Charity switched to salads and yogurt. Previously, in a single day she could eat almost an entire buffet: two pizzas, several sandwiches, five donuts, a bag of popcorn, two lasagnas, a pack of chips, and ice cream.<\/strong><\/p>\n So far, Mrs. Pierce has already lost about 220 kg (485 lbs)<\/strong> and continues dieting and exercising according to a specially designed program. Meanwhile, her daughter gained weight during those two years and by the age of 18 weighed nearly 180 kg (396 lbs)<\/strong>. Both genetics and lifestyle played a role.<\/p>\n After losing weight, Charity broke up with Tom \u2014 he didn\u2019t wait for her transformation and cheated on her. Because of this, the woman began drinking alcohol, and her daughter ran away from home.<\/p>\n In 2020<\/strong>, Pierce announced on social media that she had been diagnosed with cancer:<\/p>\n \u201cOn Christmas I found out that I had kidney cancer. It shocked me because my mother died from brain cancer. The next step was to remove my kidney as soon as possible before it spread to other organs. So on March 2 my kidney was removed. Now I\u2019m recovering at home and trying to heal. I just hope that only good things await me in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n It seems Charity has suffered enough in her life. Today the woman weighs just a little over 100 kg (220 lbs)<\/strong>, has stopped drinking alcohol, became interested in tattooing, and restored her relationship with her daughter.<\/p>\n During this time, Pierce\u2019s daughter managed to get married and have a child.
