\u201cThank you for standing up for them,\u201d he said gently. \u201cThat\u2019s what real courage looks like.\u201d<\/p>\n
Then he stood.<\/p>\n
And faced the boys again.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou\u2019ve got phones out,\u201d he said. \u201cGood. Keep recording.\u201d<\/p>\n
The teens shifted nervously.<\/p>\n
\u201cBecause now,\u201d he continued, \u201cyou\u2019re going to apologize. Properly.\u201d<\/p>\n
Silence.<\/p>\n
One of the bikers cracked his knuckles softly.<\/p>\n
Not threatening.<\/p>\n
Just enough.<\/p>\n
The first boy looked down. \u201cWe\u2019re sorry.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cLouder,\u201d Michael said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re sorry!\u201d they all mumbled together.<\/p>\n

As they walked off toward the bakery, guided by two silent bikers, the crowd on the bench suddenly found deep interest in their shoes.<\/p>\n
