My neighbor was tending to his yard when he was suddenly startled by the sound of crashing branches. A late-model car had plowed through his hedge and come to a stop right in the middle of his front lawn.<\/p>\n
Rushing over, he found an elderly woman behind the wheel. Concerned, he quickly helped her out of the car and settled her into a lawn chair.
\nStill catching his breath, he said, \u201cMa\u2019am, you seem a little\u2026 well, a little old to be driving.\u201d<\/p>\n
She straightened up proudly. \u201cWhy, yes, I am! I\u2019ll be 97 next month.\u201d
\nHis eyebrows shot up. \u201cAnd you\u2019re still driving?\u201d<\/p>\n
She gave him a sweet smile. \u201cOh, I don\u2019t even need a driver\u2019s license anymore.\u201d
\nNow thoroughly confused, he asked, \u201cHow do you figure that?\u201d<\/p>\n
Her smile widened. \u201cWell, the last time I went to see my doctor, he asked if I had a driver\u2019s license. I said yes and handed it to him.\u201d
