The boss thought to himself, \u201cI\u2019m not hiring that lazy newf\u201d, so he decided to set a test for the Newfie hoping he wouldn\u2019t be able to answer the questions and he\u2019d be able to refuse him the job without getting into an argument.<\/p>\n
The first question was, \u201cWithout using numbers, represent the number 9.\u201d<\/p>\n
Newfie says, \u201cDat\u2019s easy\u201d and proceeds to draw three trees.<\/p>\n
The boss says, \u201cWhat in the world is that?\u201d<\/p>\n
Newfie says, \u201cTree \u2018n tree \u2018n tree makes nine.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cFair enough\u201d says the boss.<\/p>\n
\u201cSecond question, same rules, but represent 99\u201d.<\/p>\n
Newfie stares into space for a while, then makes a smudge on each tree.<\/p>\n
\u201cDer ya go bye,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n
The boss scratches his head and asks, \u201cHow on earth do you get that to represent 99?\u201d<\/p>\n
Newfie answers, \u201cEach tree is dirty now, so it\u2019s dirty tree \u2018n dirty tree \u2018n dirty tree \u2013 dat 99.\u201d<\/p>\n
The boss is getting worried he\u2019s going to have to hire the newf so he says, \u201cAll right, question number 3. Same rules again, but this time represent the number 100.\u201d<\/p>\n
Newfie stares into space again, then he shouts, \u201cI got it!\u201d He makes a little mark at the base of each tree and says, \u201cDer ya go sir -100.\u201d<\/p>\n
The boss looks at Newfie\u2019s attempt and thinks, \u201cHa! got him this time.\u201d<\/p>\n
He then tells Newfie, \u201cGo on, Newfie, you must be crazy if you think that represents a 100.\u201d<\/p>\n
Newfie leans forward and points to the little marks at the tree bases and says, \u201cA little dog comes along and craps near the base of each tree, so now ya got dirty tree an\u2019 a turd, dirty tree an\u2019 a turd, and dirty tree an\u2019 a turd, which makes 100.<\/p>\n
