Although Donald Trump has always been a contentious figure, his most recent remarks made at a speech have generated a great deal of discussion on social media.<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Over the weekend, Donald Trump made some somewhat strange remarks when addressing guests at a gala at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey.<\/p>\n

Social media users are already discussing Trump\u2019s brief address after seeing clips of it, and it\u2019s simple to understand why.<\/p>\n

The US president continued to discuss the terrible assassination of Charlie Kirk, although his remarks seemed a little out of place.<\/p>\n

He thought about Tyler Robinson, the suspect the FBI named after he said that \u201csmart people\u201d disliked him. Amazingly, the audience started laughing after he said this.<\/p>\n

Trump said: \u201cSmart people don\u2019t like me, you know? And they don\u2019t like what we talk about.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut he\u2019s [Robinson] become radicalized, so many things have been learned about him so quickly, he\u2019s become radicalized and crazy and it must have been traumatic because the parents are conservative people, supposed to be very nice people, living in Utah.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe father turns in the son, boy that\u2019s a tough deal.<\/p>\n

\u201cI actually asked somebody in the FBI how often does that happen, knowing even the guilt, that a father will turn in his son, or parents will turn in a son, and he said almost never.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kirk was slain on Wednesday, September 10, at Utah Valley University while giving a speech at an event hosted by his company, Turning Point USA. On Friday, September 12, the FBI said that they had taken into custody a suspect who was identified as Robinson, age 22.<\/p>\n

Trump\u2019s detractors seized on his remark about \u201csmart people\u201d and acknowledged that they don\u2019t always agree with the president.<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Others have pointed out that this seems disrespectful to his supporters.<\/p>\n

One Twitter user wrote: \u201cDid he just call MAGA dumb?! First time I believe what he actually said\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

Another said: \u201cHe can say anything, he knows it, MAGA will never accept they\u2019ve been fooled.\u201d<\/p>\n

A third wrote: \u201cSmart people generally don\u2019t have much patience for those who are vacuous.\u201d<\/p>\n

With another adding: \u201cThis may be the first genuinely truthful and sensible thing he\u2019s ever said. Wow.. he insulted his fanbase on spot lmao.\u201d<\/p>\n

And a fifth simply commenting: \u201cSmart people recognized a snake oil salesman.\u201d<\/p>\n
