Two elderly residents of a Florida mobile home park, a widower and a widow, had known each other for years.<\/strong><\/h2>\n

One evening, during a community supper, they sat across from each other. As the meal progressed, the widower worked up the courage and asked, \u201cWill you marry me?\u201d<\/p>\n

After a thoughtful pause, she smiled and replied, \u201cYes. Yes, I will.\u201d
\nThey shared a lovely evening and went their separate ways.<\/p>\n

The next morning, the widower was troubled. He couldn\u2019t remember if she had said \u201cyes\u201d or \u201cno.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nervously, he called her and confessed, \u201cI\u2019m so sorry, but my memory isn\u2019t what it used to be. Last night, when I asked if you\u2019d marry me, did you say yes or no?\u201d<\/p>\n

She laughed warmly and said, \u201cI said yes, and I meant it with all my heart!\u201d<\/p>\n

Then, with a chuckle, she added, \u201cAnd I\u2019m so glad you called because I couldn\u2019t remember who asked me!\u201d<\/p>\n

The Old Couple and the Hearing Aid<\/strong><\/h2>\n

An old couple, George and Martha, are sitting on their front porch rocking in their chairs, watching the sun go down like they have every evening for the past 40 years.<\/strong><\/h2>\n

George turns to Martha and says, \u201cYou know, Martha, I\u2019m proud of us. All these years, through thick and thin, we\u2019ve stuck together.\u201d<\/p>\n

Martha smiles sweetly and replies, \u201cWhat was that, dear?\u201d<\/p>\n

George raises his voice, \u201cI said\u2014I\u2019m proud of us!\u201d<\/p>\n

Martha squints. \u201cYou\u2019re\u2026 proud of the bus?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNo! US! YOU AND ME!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOh!\u201d she says. \u201cWell that\u2019s nice. I\u2019m proud of the bus too, though. It\u2019s always on time.\u201d<\/p>\n

George sighs, shakes his head, and mutters, \u201cI told you to get those hearing aids checked.\u201d<\/p>\n

Martha waves a hand, \u201cNonsense. I hear just fine.\u201d<\/p>\n

Next day, they go to the doctor\u2019s office to finally get Martha\u2019s hearing tested. After some time, the doctor comes out and says, \u201cWell, good news\u2014Martha\u2019s hearing can be helped with a new state-of-the-art hearing aid. But it\u2019ll cost about $3,000.\u201d<\/p>\n

George nearly falls out of his chair. \u201cThree thousand dollars?! Does it come with surround sound and a Spotify subscription?\u201d<\/p>\n

But Martha gets the hearing aid, and after a week, the doctor calls George for a follow-up.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, how\u2019s Martha doing with her new hearing aid?\u201d<\/p>\n

George says, \u201cFantastic. I\u2019ve tested her a few times. I stand behind her and ask a question quietly to see how far she can hear.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cReally?\u201d the doctor says. \u201cThat\u2019s a good method. How far back did you go?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWell,\u201d George says, \u201clast night I stood about 20 feet behind her while she was cooking and said, \u2018What\u2019s for dinner?\u2019 No answer. So I got closer\u201415 feet. Still nothing. Ten feet\u2014still no reply. Finally, I was right behind her and said, \u2018What\u2019s for dinner?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

The doctor asks, \u201cAnd what did she say?\u201d<\/p>\n

George sighs, \u201cShe turned around and yelled, \u2018For the FOURTH time, GEORGE\u2014it\u2019s CHICKEN!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
