At night, our dog slowly entered the room

I heard a strange creak in the hallway and a barely perceptible rustle – I realized the dog wasn’t the problem.

Sami was standing between us and the door – as if he knew exactly where the danger was coming from.

I immediately woke my wife, signaled her to stay quiet, then tiptoed closer to the door and heard the sound again – someone was dragging their feet across the floor.

I grabbed the phone and called the police. Until the patrol arrived, we hid with the children in the bathroom – Sami stayed guard the entire time, right in front of the door.

After seven minutes – an eternity in that situation – we heard a shout from outside:

— Police! Nobody move!

Two thieves were caught right inside our house. It seems they had entered through the living room window and hoped to rob the place while we were sleeping. But they forgot one essential thing – our dog.

Sami became a true hero. If it hadn’t been for him, who knows how it all would have ended. We bought him a huge bone and the warmest blanket. And at night, he now sleeps by our bedroom door. And we no longer protest.

He is our true protector.
